Pedestrian Killed In Burbank Car Accident On Interstate 5 Freeway
BURBANK, CALIFORNIA (September 9, 2019) – A pedestrian has tragically died in a car accident on the 5 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol are saying that the accident happened around 8:06 p.m. near the Freeway off-ramp. Paramedics were called to the scene in order to help the victim.
Despite life-saving efforts the pedestrian later died due to their injuries. An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.

Drivers must yield the right of way to pedestrians that are in lawfully marked crosswalks. According to California Vehicle Code 21950, “The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise provided in this chapter.” Drivers must use caution even when pedestrians are outside of lawfully marked crosswalks. The family of any victim that died in a pedestrian accident may have legal recourse through California Code of Civil Procedure 377.60.
