Liability In Fresno Car Accidents
Rear-end collisions are among the most common types of accidents that occur. They result in tens of thousands of deaths and are nearly always preventable. Drivers are supposed to maintain a safe follow distance for the vehicle ahead of them. Most rear-end collisions are due to drivers that are speeding, distracted or following the lead vehicle too closely. There are a number of steps that should be taken after an accident.
- Eye witnesses should be interviewed
- Surveillance footage should be sought
- Medical records should be preserved
- An experienced personal injury attorney should be contacted
When a driver is negligent and causes an accident they can be held at fault through a civil claim. Potential beneficiaries in a civil claim may include a victim’s spouse, children and parents. Civil claims are designed to help mitigate some of the unexpected financial costs that often follow the loss of a loved one. A wrongful death attorney can examine all of the facts of your case free of cost and let you know what your legal options are.
