Liability In Orange DUI Car Accidents

Attempting to drive a vehicle while intoxicated is never a good idea. The problem is that people will have a small amount of alcohol and then drive. Next time they will have more and so on. People will get more comfortable in their ability to drive drunk, but their perception is skewed. People dramatically overestimate how safe they can drive after they’ve had alcohol. Even small amounts of alcohol can substantially impair drivers in the following ways.

  • Delayed reaction times
  • Impaired judgement
  • Loss of coordination

When a driver is negligent and causes a car accident they can be held at fault through a civil claim. Even if the at fault driver does not have insurance victims may be able to seek justice through a wrongful death claim. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with civil claims. Failing to act within the statute of limitations may result in a permanent forfeiture of your rights.
