Joe Costa Sonora: Joe Costa From Twain Harte Died In Sonora Industrial Accident At Sierra Pacific Industries Mill In Standard

SONORA, CALIFORNIA (September 2, 2019) – A 27-year-old worker identified as Joe Costa has tragically died in an industrial accident on Friday at the Sierra Pacific Industries Mill in Standard.

Authorities are saying that Joe Costa was in the waste chipper station when another coworker found him. Paramedics were called to Sierra Pacific Industries Mill and noticed that Joe Costa had severe injuries to his arm and jaw. 

Despite life-saving efforts he was later pronounced dead. Sonora police as well as Cal/OSHA are continuing their investigation into the industrial accident.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “There were approximately 2.8 million nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses reported by private industry employers in 2017, which occurred at a rate of 2.8 cases per 100 full-time equivalent (FTE) workers, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.
