Taxi Passengers Injured In Orange Car Accident By Wells Fargo Along Tustin Street
ORANGE, CALIFORNIA (July 29, 2020) – Two passengers in a Yellow taxi were injured following an accident with a pickup truck along Tustin Street.
Orange County police officials are saying that the collision took place around 4:45 a.m. on Monday morning. For reasons that remain under investigation a truck crashed into a yellow taxi carrying two passengers.
The force of the impact caused the pick up truck to crash into the wall of a Wells Fargo. The impact left a giant hole in the building.
Police are saying that the driver of the truck tried to run away but was chased and later caught. An investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing at this time.
Liability In Orange Yellow Taxi Car Accidents
A large number of car accidents are due in part to drivers that make dangerous left turns. According to California Vehicle Code 21801, “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching from the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement.” It’s important that evidence is properly preserved after an accident.
Liability for car accidents in California is determined on a comparative basis. For example, even if a taxi driver was only 10% responsible for an accident victims could still recover from the taxi’s insurance policy. The award that they get would simply be reduced proportionately. As “common carriers” taxis are held to a high standard in terms of safety. Any person that is injured in a taxi accident may have legal recourse through a bodily injury claim.
Damages in a civil claim can help cover lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering. Many of the injuries associated with car accidents may not be apparent until several weeks or months following a collision. A car accident attorney can examine all of the facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are. There are, however, statute of limitations associated with filing civil claims. It is therefore important to act quickly.
