Tustin CA, (August 1, 2023) An illegal street takeover occurred on July 28th on Tustin Road and ended with a hit-and-run. The Tustin Police Department said they started receiving calls about cars speeding up and down Tustin Road around 11:40 p.m.
A news release from Tustin Police Department stated that there wear around 300 cars parked up and down the Road, even in the intersection. They said vehicles were doing burnouts in the intersection and a group of spectators stood close by, watching. The Tustin Police Department issued citations and had at least 51 cars towed, according to police.

KTLA news announced that a dark colored sedan was one of the vehicles doing burnouts in the intersection. It kept moving closer and closer to the crowd until it hit one of the spectators. The vehicle then fled the scene. The teen who was struck suffered several broken bones and was transported to a hospital. The teen is expected to make a full recovery.
Tustin Police Department Lt. Ryan Coe said they police department is seeking information on the people involved in the takeover.
