Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Saratoga Avenue In San Jose

Pedestrian Struck and critically injured in Sacramento.

San Jose, CA (April 1, 2024) A horrible accident claimed one man’s life in a San Jose neighborhood on Sunday evening. The man was walking along Saratoga Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle around 7:39 p.m., officers reported.

The San Jose Police Department said they were called to the 500 block of Saratoga Avenue on Sunday evening for reports of a pedestrian accident. Officers arrived at the scene near The Harker School, which is a coed private school for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Officers found the man lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries.

Offocers closed the road from Moorpark Avenue to Kiely Boulevard as paramedics began life-saving measures on the pedestrian. Emergency personnel did everything they could, but the man’s injuries were too severe and he eventually died from them. With heavy hearts, they pronounced him dead at the scene and waited for the coroner to arrive.

Authorities are still working on this case to determine what exactly happened on Saratoga Avenue in San Jose. They are determined to figure out what caused this fatal pedestrian accident and want to remind drivers to stay alert. Drivers have an obligation to look out for pedestrians.
