A head-on collision in Tuolumne County on May 31st tragically claimed the lives of four people. A Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was heading north on Bonds Flat road between Le Grange Road and Route 132, according to reports. At the same time, a Toyota Highlander was traveling south on the same stretch of road. Right around 5:00 p.m., the Silverado crossed the double yellow line and continued heading north in the southbound lanes. The Highlander had no time to get out of the way and the two vehicles collided, head-on, at high speeds.
The California Highway Patrol quickly arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles in the middle of the roadway, completely smashed and damaged. Pieces of debris, big and small, were strung around the scene and authorities new that it was unlikely that anyone survived. They rushed to the vehicles, hoping to find someone who had survived, but sadly, everyone involved had been killed in this horrible collision. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced all four occupants of the vehicles dead at the scene.
Officers investigated the scene in hopes of determining what exactly led up to this fatal accident on Bonds Flat Road in Tuolumne County. The two vehicles had become nothing more than wrecked pieces of metal as tow trucks hauled them both away.
