Suryanshu Gehlot Killed in Redwood City Crash

2 killed in Gilroy collision on Highway 25.

Redwood City, CA (June 7, 2024) One small accident turned into a tragic collision on Highway 101 in Redwood City on May 31st. Sadly, it claimed the life of Redwood City’s Suryanshu Gehlot.

Gehlot’s vehicle sat on the highway after crashing into a pole while he was driving along Highway 101. It blocked the fourth lane of the highway as it sat immobilized near San Antonio Road. Gehlot’s vehicle was then hit by two others while he was outside calling authorities. The collision occurred just before 3:00 a.m.

Officers reported that a driver in a Scion hit debris that had scattered after Gehlot’s Hyundai crashed into the pole. This placed the Scion driver into the fourth lane, where they slammed into Gehlot’s disabled Hyundai. Shortly after that, a freightliner traveling north moved to avoid the two vehicles, but ended up hitting the Hyundai at a high speed, officers reported.

Emergency personnel hurried to the scene and found the three vehicles blocking more than one lane of traffic on Highway 101. Debris was all over the roadway, officers said, and the Hyundai was totaled.
