Cottonwood, CA (June 20, 2024)
A 41-year-old Redding man was tragically killed in Cottonwood early on Wednesday morning. California Highway Patrol reports that the accident happened at about 3 a.m.
A driver in a white Ford F-350 was apparently speeding along Balls Ferry Road north of Trefoil Lane. They were going southbound. They took a sharp turn around a corner, lost control of their vehicle, and drove off of the roadway.

The driver then collided with a big log that was blocking access to a railroad. The log then lodged under the Ford truck, and somehow hit the 41-year-old man in violent fashion. This killed the victim. It’s unclear if the victim was on foot.
In terrible news, the driver of the Ford exited their vehicle and fled. California Highway Patrol is still searching for them. They believe that they are local to Cottonwood.
