Adelanto, CA. (June 26, 2024) A little girl was severely injured in a six-car pileup that occurred last Thursday, June 20, in San Bernardino County.
Her father, whose name is Marcus Coleman, told reporters that his daughter was riding in a Toyota Corolla when a semi-truck struck it from behind on Highway 395. His daughter, Dalilah, is only 5 years old. She is from Bakersfield.
The initial collision apparently escalated into a six-car pileup. Dalilah was pinned in the back seat and badly hurt. Medics airlifted her to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Her femur was broken, her skull was fractured, and her brain was bruised. Reports say that doctors had to remove part of her skull to allow the swelling to ease. Thankfully, Mr. Coleman says she is expected to survive.
Investigators reportedly learned from witnesses that the crash occurred because the driver of the semi-truck fell asleep behind the wheel.
