Concord, CA (July 2, 2024) One person was injured following a Concord collision on State Route 242 on Monday morning, July 1st. The two-vehicle collision occurred just after 7:00 a.m., near Grant Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Early morning traffic was steadily moving on Monday morning on State Routs 60 in Concord. A red Ford pickup truck and a silver Honda sedan were traveling along the highway when they suddenly collided. The cause of the accident is still unknown, but reports indicated that the two damaged vehicles were able to pull onto the center divide and didn’t impede traffic flow, following the accident. Debris, however, was left in the roadway and other motorists did their best to avoid it.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the call and arrived at the scene. They found the two damaged vehicles sitting on the center median of the highway. The Honda had pretty severe damage to its left-side and the pickup truck had sustained damage in the accident, as well, but it wasn’t as severe, officers reported. They located one person who had sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision. Paramedics transported the victim to John Muir Medical Center to receive treatment.
Officers began investigating the scene and called a tow truck to remove the damaged Honda from the highway. Crews then removed the debris from the roadway. They are working to determine what caused this two-vehicle collision on State Route 242, as well as who was at fault.
