San Diego, CA (August 3, 2024) Another Friday evening/night pedestrian accident occurred in California on Friday, August 2nd. This time, it occurred in San Diego on Del Sol Boulevard just before 7:00 p.m., according to reports.. A 37-year-old male was hit by a vehicle driven by a 77-year-old woman. Tragically, the pedestrian did not survive, officers reported.
It was just before 7:00 p.m. on Del Sol Boulevard in San Diego on Friday evening as a pedestrian walked from south to north on Kostner Drive. As he walked across the street, a 2010 Toyota Rav4 was heading west as it approached. However, he expected the car to stop at the posted stop sign. Instead, the vehicle ran the stop sign and headed right for the pedestrian. He couldn’t get out of the way in time and was struck by the vehicle in the middle of the roadway, reports indicated.
Officers arrived at the 4200 block of Del Sol Boulevard to see the man in serious condition on the ground. They rushed to the victim and did everything they could to save his life. He was rushed to a nearby trauma center with severe head injuries, officers reported. The emergency staff did everything with their power to save the pedestrian. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division began investigating the scene. Officers quickly determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in this collision. They took statements and gathered as much evidence as they could find.
