Las Vegas, NV (October 7, 2024) A 48-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a DUI driver while walking through the Northeast Las Vegas Valley. The accident occurred at the intersection of Flippin Street and Marion Drive, not far from Nellis Boulevard, around 5:40 a.m. The driver quickly fled the scene, following the accident, according to reports.
It was early in the morning on Saturday, October 6th, in Northeast Las Vegas, as a pedestrian walked along the streets. As he walked, a 1996 Ford Ranger approached, heading north on Marion Drive. Without warning, the pickup struck the pedestrian, knocking the man to the ground. However, instead of stopping, the driver of the Ford hit the gas and fled the scene, officers reported.
Emergency crews hurried to the scene and found the victim on the ground with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed, via ambulance, to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Not too long after the accident, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department found the driver of the Ford Ranger. He was identified as Alfredo Jauregui, 22. Officers reported that they found Jauregui intoxicated and arrested him. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces multiple DUI charges, officers reported.
