Bakersfield, CA (July 31, 2023) 3 children were left with injuries, 1 of which was life-threatening, after they were hit by a car while riding their bikes on Sunday night. The children were riding their bicycles near an Planz Elementary School in the 2300 block of Planz Road when a driver hit them from behind.
It all happened around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday night. Bakersfield Police Department said the children were riding their bikes eastbound in the 2-way left turn storage lane when they were hit by either a brown or gold vehicle. Investigators claim that the vehicle could possibly be a Kia Forte, judging from descriptions.

The vehicle never stopped, leaving the hit children and their bikes in the road. Two of the children were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. One child suffered minor injuries, while the other has life-threatening injuries.
