A man on a bicycle was struck by a car on Tuesday, June 25. The devastating collision occurred at the Allen Road and Stockdale Highway intersection at about 6:30 p.m.
When authorities investigated, they discovered that the bicyclist was riding in the west crosswalk going south. The driver, meanwhile, was heading eastbound in a red car on the highway. The details of the crash are still unfolding, but tragically, the man on the bike was killed by the impact.
Reports say that the driver of the vehicle in question remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The investigation is ongoing, and the Bakersfield Police Department asks anyone with information about the accident to contact them.
