Victorville, CA (August 7, 2024) A hit-and-run driver injured a female bicyclist on Tuesday afternoon, August 6th, officers reported. The collision officer in the 17100 block of D Street and left the rider with life-threatening injuries. It happened near Emma Jean’s Holland Burger Cafe, right around 2:15 p.m. Officers are still searching for the driver responsible.
A woman was riding her bicycle along D Street on a sunny summer afternoon in Victorville, California. As she neared Emma Jean’s Holland Burger Cafe, headed south, she was suddenly struck by a vehicle. The force knocked the woman from her bicycle and left the bike laying on the roadway, bent and damaged. The driver didn’t stop to check on the woman or to call for help. Instead, they hit the gas and fled the scene, leaving the injured bicyclist behind.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the woman with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics with Victorville City Fire arrived at the scene and called for an air ambulance to take the biker to a hospital. She was rushed to Victor Valley Global Medical Center by ambulance first, and then airlifted to a trauma center that was out-of-area. There have been no updates on her condition at this time.
Officers gathered evidence at the scene and are working to determine what caused this accident. They are also working to determine what type of vehicle struck the bicyclist.
