As a bicyclist rode near the intersection of Sunset Avenue and Kenneth Avenue in Fair Oaks, a Honda Pilot SUV approached them. For reasons that are still unknown, the Honda struck the bicycle at the intersection at approximately 11:20 a.m. The impact knocked the rider from the bicycle, according to reports. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and waited at the scene with the rider.
Paramedics arrived and found a Honda, gold or tan in color, stopped near a dented bicycle on the ground. Near the bike was the rider, also on the ground. However, reports indicated that the rider was alert and talking to paramedics following the accident. While the bicyclist’s injuries were significant, they are not believed to be life-threatening. Paramedics loaded the rider into an ambulance and transported them to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
