Bicyclist Struck, Killed In San Jose Crash

93-year-old bicyclist struck and killed in Westminster.

San Jose, CA (September 11, 2024) The community of San Jose was saddened to learn of a bicyclist’s death on Tuesday, September 10th. The fatal accident happened at the East Capital Expressway on-ramp, leading to Interstate 680’s northbound road, according to reports. The tragic accident occurred just after 11:30 a.m.

It was a late Tuesday morning in San Jose as a bicyclist headed along the East Capital Expressway on-ramp. A pickup truck was driving in the same area and ended up hitting the bicyclist, for unknown reasons. The impact threw the rider from the bike, according to reports.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the rider on the ground, motionless. They hurried to the victim’s side, ready to give medical aid, but unfortunately found that the rider had been killed in the accident. With heavy hearts, officers pronounced the victim deal at the scene.

The bicycle was taken to the San Jose Police Department as evidence, reports indicated. The driver of the pickup truck stopped and cooperated with authorities during their investigation. They are working to determine what happened to cause the pickup truck to hit the bicyclist in San Jose.
