Fresno County, CA (September 19, 2024) A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle while riding in Fresno County on Wednesday afternoon, September 18, 2024. The accident left the bicyclist with serious injuries, according to reports. It happened at the intersection of East Saginaw Way and North Clovis Avenue in the Tarpey Village area.
It was just before 1:00 p.m. in Fresno County as a bicyclist approached an intersection. The rider entered the intersection at the same time as a vehicle and was struck, reports indicated. The driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and waited for authorities to arrive as the 911 calls began arriving at dispatch.
The California Highway Patrol and Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the rider on the ground. The bicycle was dented and bent, laying several feet from the rider. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for undisclosed injuries, according to reports.

Officers investigated the scene and took statements from witnesses that afternoon. They are working to determine what caused this bicyclist accident in the Tarpey Village area, as well as who was at fault. Following the investigation, the bike was removed from the scene.
