A 37-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Ford Expedition SUV along Canon Street on Saturday night, when she suddenly slammed into the back of a parked box truck. The Econoline box truck was said to be legally parked on the south side of the street, in the eastbound block of 3400 Canon Street. Initial reports suggested that the SUV made an unsafe move on the road, causing it to collide with the parked box truck.
The San Diego Police Department arrived at the scene and found the SUV with major front-end damage. Paramedics hurried to the SUV, ready to give medical aid to anyone in need. They found a 12-year-old girl with serious injuries, including a broken leg. The driver and other passengers complained of pain, officers reported. Everyone inside the SUV was transported to a hospital in the area to receive treatment, following the collision.
