Richmond, CA (October 24, 2024) It was around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, October 24th, as vehicles headed along Interstate 580 in Richmond. Not far from Marina Bay Parkway, four vehicles suddenly collided in the westbound lanes of the freeway. Two people were injured in the collision, according to reports.
Initial reports indicated that a van, a black Ford Mustang, a Dodge Challenger, and an SUV were all involved in this collision. The accident left the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes of the freeway blocked and debris littered the roadway, causing traffic hazards. According to reports, the van and the SUV both had damage on all sides, following the collision.
The California Highway Patrol were the first at the scene. They hurried to the vehicles to see if anyone had been injured. Reports indicated that two people were found with injuries to their hands and feet. Both victims were taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Three of the vehicles had to be hauled away by tow trucks, following the investigation, and crews worked to clean the lanes of glass and debris as quickly as possible. According to reports, the lanes were re-opened just before 8:30 a.m.
