Canoga Park, Los Angeles, CA (January 8, 2024) Two people, identified as 24-year-old Pedro Montelongo and 23-year-old Kimberley Ayala Rodriguez, lost their lives and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Sunday, January 7th. The Los Angeles Fire Department stated that the accident occurred just before 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Saticoy Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Canoga Park.

Three vehicles were said to be involved in this fatal collision, according to authorities. Montelongo and Rodriguez were trapped inside their vehicle following the crash. At this time, it is not known if the two were in the same vehicle or in separate vehicles. Fire fighters had to use special tools to remove them from the wreckage.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene but unfortunately found that Montelongo and Rodriguez had died in the collision. Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene. Four others involved in this accident sustained injuries. Two were rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries while two more received minor to moderate injuries in this crash that took two lives.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this collision to try and determine what exactly caused this tragic accident and who was at fault.
