Two-vehicle collision in Bakersfield kills one.

Kingsburg, CA (September 26, 2024) Two vehicles collided on Mountain View Avenue in Kingsburg, leaving 9 people with injuries. The accident occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, not too far from Bethel Avenue, according to reports.

The sun had yet to rise over Kingsburg, California, as vehicles drove along dark streets. A Dodge pickup truck with six occupants was driving along Mountain View Avenue, when a Chevrolet Astro van suddenly pulled out in front of the Dodge. The driver of the Dodge had no time to react and the two vehicles collided, officers reported. The impact caused the pickup truck to go off the road and slam into a traffic light pole.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the two damaged vehicles near the intersection. They found six people inside the pickup truck with injuries and three people inside the van who were also injured. Officers reported that none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, however, all nine victims were taken to nearby hospitals to receive treatment.

Detectives at the scene gathered evidence and took statements from witnesses at the scene. Tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway and crews worked to clean up the debris that had been left behind.
