2-Year-Old Merida Castillo Killed by RV

Dockweiler State Beach (June 17, 2024) An unthinkable tragedy occurred on Saturday at Dockweiler State Beach.

At around 5:47 p.m., authorities received a report about a fatal accident in the 12200 block of Vista del Mar. A 2-year-old girl from Lancaster named Merida Castillo was hit by an RV.

Reports say that the person driving the RV is the girl’s mother. Apparently, she was backing the large vehicle out of a driveway when she struck the child. An investigation into the accident is underway.
