4th Of July Crash In Highland Leaves One Dead

Injuries reported in South Sacramento collision.

Highland, CA (July 6, 2024) The 210 Freeway in Highland was the scene of a fatal accident on the fourth of July. At approximately 5:15 a.m., a collision occurred near 5th Street and San Bernardino Avenue, which claimed one person’s life, according to reports.

Details surrounding the accident are still few, and officers didn’t re-open the roadway until nearly 9:00 a.m., following the early morning collision. Reports indicated that police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene within minutes of the accident. They rushed to give medical attention to anyone who had been injured in the crash. Sadly, they found one person who had been killed in the collision. They pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to reports.

Officers then began investigating the scene, looking for any evidence that could help them understand what transpired on that freeway. The investigation at the scene, followed by the cleanup of glass and debris, left the roadway closed for nearly 4 hours, reports indicated. Officers are asking that anyone who witnessed this accident or has any information regarding it, call the San Bernardino Police Department. A tow truck was called to remove at least one damaged vehicle from the scene.
