6 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Collision On Highway 1 In Ventura

1 killed in wrong-way collision in Anaheim.

Ventura, CA (July 6, 2024) Three vehicles were involved in a collision that left six people injured on Tuesday evening, July 2nd. Officers reported that the collision occurred on Highway 1 right around 8:23 p.m. Of the six people injured, three of them sustained serious injuries, according to reports.

A gray Subaru and a white Toyota were traveling along Highway 1 when, for reasons still unknown, they collided with a blue Ford.  The head-on collision left the three vehicles in the middle of the highway with major damage, officers reported.

Emergency crews hurried to the scene, sirens wailing, and found the three badly damaged vehicles. Officials rushed to help anyone who needed medical care. The blue Ford had two women inside who were both critically injured from the collision. Both women were rushed to Ventura County Medical Center to receive emergency treatment, according to reports. The Toyota had two occupants with injuries. An 18-year-old sustained a fractured back in the accident and a 19-year-old had a fractured sternum. Paramedics took both of them to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries. Two other people sustained minor injuries in the accident, officers reported.

Detectives with the California Highway Patrol Ventura Office are leading this investigation. They do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in this head-on collision. Officers are working to determine what exactly happened on Highway 1 to cause this accident. They are also determined to figure out who was at fault. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway and crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the glass and debris.
