Carmichael, CA (November 23, 2023) 7 adults and 2 children were injured on Thanksgiving Day in a 2-vehicle Carmichael collision, according to Sacramento Metro Fire. The accident happened near the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Cypress Avenue just before 2:30 p.m.
Sacramento Metro Fire arrived at the intersection of Cypress Avenue and Walnut Avenue to find 9 people injured. A 7-year-old and a 9-year-old were found to be in critical condition. Both were rushed to a local hospital following the crash to receive treatment. The California Highway Patrol reported that the children were in the same vehicle and neither child was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Seven adults were also taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
The California Highway Patrol does not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in this crash. The two vehicles had to be removed from the intersection and crews had to clean up debris from the scene.
