Justin, TX (December 10, 2023) An Amtrak train left Deandre Harper dead after his vehicle was hit in Justin on Thursday, December 7th, according to police officers. The Justin Police Department received a call around 6:00 p.m. about a vehicle versus a train accident. It happened on East 5th Street near FM 156.
Officers arrived at the scene and found what they have described as a “mangled SUV” that had been hit by the Amtrak train. Officers and paramedics rushed to the car and sadly found that Harper had been killed in the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene and officers called for a medical examiner.

There were over 50 passengers on the train who were all evaluated by medical personnel, but it appeared that none of the passengers, nor the crew, were injured in the collision. Officers are unsure as to why Harper was on the tracks while the train was barreling towards his car.
