(San Diego, CA) A pickup truck crashed into the San Diego Bay, killing Anne Confer and David Montgomery Jr.
The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department reported the harbor crash at around 9:00 p.m. Thursday to a pickup truck driving off at a high speed on Harbor Island Drive in San Diego Bay.
Officers arrived and found one of the people managed to get out. Good Samaritans had already pulled them to shore, though they were unconscious upon checking on the survivor.
A harbor police dive team entered the bay, accompanied by San Diego Bay lifeguards and found the sunken truck, alongside Anne Confer, 53, and David Montgomery Jr., 45.
Paramedics took the pair to a hospital. David Montgomery Jr. arrived at UCSD Medical Center in critical condition and later died from his injuries. Medical officials pronounced Anne Confer dead upon arriving the hospital.
