Bakersfield, CA (December 12, 2023) 34-year-old Anthony Jon Delarosa was killed in a collision with a dump truck in Bakersfield, according to officials. The multi-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Union Avenue and East California Avenue.
Delarosa was driving a blue pick up truck at a high speed and then ran a red light. The pickup collided with a dump truck in the intersection, causing the dump truck to overturn. It collided with two other vehicles as it overturned, the Bakersfield Police Department said.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find that 4 vehicles had been involved in the collision. They rushed to find those involved and give medical aid to anyone in need. They found Delarosa unresponsive and he was, unfortunately, pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries. The Kern County Coroner’s Officer was contacted and later released his identity following the notification of Delarosa’s family.
Crews had to clean the scene which was littered with debris and glass. Tow trucks were called to remove at least one of the vehicles from the scene and investigators began collecting evidence. It is unknown if anyone else in this collision was injured.
