San Diego, CA (January 22, 2024) At least one person lost their life on Sunday, January 21st, following a collision on the southbound 15 Freeway. It happened right around 9:00 p.m. in San Diego slightly south of the transition road to the 805 Freeway, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at Wabash Boulevard. Initial reports indicated that the driver lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the freeway and sped down an embankment before coming to a crashing halt.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found one person unresponsive. Authorities, sadly, pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officers are working to try and decipher what caused the vehicle to swerve off the freeway, leaving at least one person dead in this tragic San Diego crash.
