Ripon, CA (July 28, 2024) A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 99 in Ripon left at least one person with injuries, officers reported. The collision took place near Jack Tone Road on southbound Highway 99 just after 2:00 a.m. The accident involved at least five vehicles and a semi-truck, officers reported.
As vehicles traveled along Highway 99 in the Ripon area on Friday afternoon, a multiple-vehicle pileup occurred in the southbound lanes. For reasons that remain unknown, at least 5 cars and a semi-truck collided on the highway. The collision left at least one person with significant injuries and caused huge traffic delays in the area, reports indicated. Damaged vehicles were stopped in the middle of the roadway and debris was flown in all directions.
Emergency personnel arrived at he scene and found the damaged vehicles sitting on the highway as traffic began to back up. Officers went to the vehicles, ready to help anyone in need of medical attention. They found at least one person with injuries, but it is still unknown if anyone was taken to a hospital.
Detectives took statements and gathered evidence at the scene as officers helped with traffic issues on the highway.
