Santa Ana, CA (July 12, 2024) Just north of Dyer Road, on State Route 55 in Santa Ana, three vehicles collided on Thursday, July 11th. The multi-vehicle collision occurred right around 11:30 a.m., according to reports, and left at least one person with injuries.
Motorists drove along State Route 55 in Orange County, late Thursday morning, as they had done every other morning. On this particular day, however, three vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the Costa Mesa 55 Freeway. A navy blue Honda Civic, a gray Honda and another vehicle all collided right around 11:30 a.m. The reason for this collision is still unknown and is being investigated by authorities, according to reports.
Orange County Fire Authority sent paramedics to the scene who quickly located at least one person who was injured. Officers arrived to find the slow lanes of the highway blocked by the damaged vehicles and quickly began taking statements and gathering evidence at the scene, thankful that no one was killed in this three-vehicle crash. A tow truck was requested to remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the scene and crews had to clean debris from the roadway. Officers are determined to figure out what caused this accident, as well as who was responsible.
