Ceres, CA (January 19, 2024) 17-year-old Joshua Guillen was driving on Geer Road when he was hit by a car that was fleeing the Ceres police. The California Highway Patrol said the 20-year-old suspect sped through the intersection of Geer Road and Keyes Road and hit Guillen’s vehicle. It all unfolded on Thursday night, January 18th, and ended with two people dead and three others injured.
The Ceres Police Department was chasing a 20-year-old man who refused to pull over. He sped through Ceres in a 2016 Ford sedan trying to outrun the police. As he sped down Keyes Road, he didn’t stop when he came to the intersection at Greer Road. Joshua Guillen was heading south on Greer Road in a 2016 Ford Coupe at the same time. The sedan crashed into the right side of Guillen’s Coupe in the intersection.

The 20-year-old man who was driving the sedan, along with his front passenger, was thrown from the vehicle. The California Highway Patrol reported that neither of them were wearing a seat belt. Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and found the two ejected people. They were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
There were 2 passengers in the backseat of the fleeing sedan as well. Jesus Vega, 18, and Alexander Rincoln, 24, were both transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Joshua Gillen, whose vehicle was hit by the fleeing sedan, was taken to a nearby hospital via ambulance to receive treatment for serious injuries he sustained in the accident.
