Livermore, CA (July 23, 2024) A horrible tragedy occurred in Livermore on Sunday morning, July 21st, claiming the life of a 24-year-old woman and a 5-year-old child. The traumatic and deadly accident took place on South Vasco Road, not far from Naylor Street, according to reports. It happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. and left a 25-year-old man with critical injuries.
It was right around 2:30 a.m. in Livermore as darkness covered the land. A family of three were traveling through the darkness. The father was driving on this dark morning. Suddenly, as they traveled along South Vasco Road, the vehicle lost control and crashed. Moments after the collision, the vehicle burst into flames, reports indicated.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the vehicle engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked as quickly as they could to extinguish the flames. They found the child, a 5-year-old girl, first. She was breathing but had sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital to receive immediate medical attention. Sadly, the girl succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The mother was found deceased and pronounced dead at the scene, officers reported. Officers found the father, who had been driving the vehicle, with critical injuries. He, too, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Investigators are working as thoroughly and quickly as they can to determine what exactly happened on that Livermore road. They are trying to understand what caused the vehicle to lose control and crash in those dark, early morning hours.
