Anaheim, CA (September 5, 2024) A collision on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim left a California Highway Patrol officer injured. The accident occurred on Tuesday morning, September 3rd, 2024, just after 8:00 a.m. The vehicle rear-ended the CHP vehicle near Euclid Street, before fleeing the scene, officers reported.
It was just after 8:00 a.m. in Anaheim on Tuesday morning. An officer with the California Highway Patrol headed west on the 91 Freeway when they pulled a vehicle onto the shoulder to make a traffic stop, near Euclid Street. The officer was still inside the vehicle when it was suddenly rear-ended by a black Nissan pickup truck. Immediately after slamming into the patrol vehicle, the pickup field the scene.
Officers found the pickup truck abandoned under the Euclid Street overpass. Authorities are determined to find the driver and bring them to justice. Meanwhile, the officer inside the patrol vehicle that had been struck, was injured. He called dispatch to request help, reports indicated. Paramedics arrived, but it is unknown if the officer was treated at the scene or taken to a local hospital. Reports suggested that the injuries were not life-threatening.
