Redwood City, CA (August 13, 2024) One person sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Redwood City on Tuesday morning, August 13th, 2024. The collision occurred on Highway 101 right around 7:45 a.m., according to reports. The accident happened just south of the Marsh Road off-ramp.
A white Tesla was driving along Highway 101 in Redwood City on Tuesday morning, August 12th, right around 7:45 a.m. At the same time, a white Ford pickup truck was traveling behind the Tesla and ended up slamming into the back of the vehicle, according to reports. The pickup was left with serious front-end damage and the Tesla had major back-end damage. Debris was thrown in every direction and the vehicles blocked the express lane and the No. 1 lane of the highway.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles in the middle of the highway. They went to both vehicles to evaluate the occupants and see if anyone had been injured. One person had sustained injuries and were complaining of neck and back pain, following the collision. It is unknown if the victim was taken to a local hospital or treated at the scene.

Tow trucks had to be called to remove both damaged vehicles from the scene and officers worked to investigate this accident. The investigation remains ongoing, according to reports. Officers are trying to understand what happened on Highway 101 to cause this collision as well as who was at fault. Crews had the debris removed from the roadway just after 8:30 a.m.
