Fresno, CA (October 30, 2023) A driver was arrested on Saturday night after he ran a red light at a southeast Fresno intersection and crashed into two other vehicles. According to the Fresno Police Department, the collision occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. on October 28th.
It all started when Fresno Police Department officials witnessed a driver commit a minor traffic violation on a Fresno street. Officers got behind the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over, but the driver sped off instead, leading officers on a high-speed chase through the streets of Fresno.

A police helicopter arrived and monitored the vehicle from above as officers on the ground pursued him. The helicopter observed the vehicle as it ran a red light at the intersection of northbound Peach Avenue and East Olive Avenue. It then crashed into two other vehicles in the intersection.
Fresno Police Department Lt. Henry Garcia said the suspect received moderate injuries to his leg and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect was then taken into custody. The other two drivers received minor injuries in the collision.
The 3 vehicles received extensive damage in the crash and the intersection was littered with debris and glass. Authorities had to close part of the intersection to clean the crash site and to, also, allow detectives to investigate the scene.
