Pomona, CA (July 6, 2024) The intersection of Orange Grove Avenue and Garey Avenue was the setting for a three-vehicle collision in Pomona on Friday night, July 5th. The collision left four people with injuries, according to reports. It all happened around 9:00 p.m. and all four victims were taken to a local hospital.

Three vehicles approached the same intersection in Pomona on Friday night, July 5th. For reasons that are still unknown, all three collided at the intersection. It was where Orange Grove Avenue and Garey Avenue intersect. The three vehicles sat, damaged, in the middle of the intersection, causing traffic issues, reports indicated.

The Pomona Police Department arrived at the scene and found the three vehicles with heavy damage in the middle of the intersection. The sun had already set as officers made their way to the vehicles, flashlights in hand. They searched the vehicles to see if anyone was in need of medical attention. They found four people with injuries, according to reports. City News Service reported that the injuries varied from minor to severe. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported all four victims to local hospitals to receive treatment for injuries they sustained in the accident.

The Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau is leading the investigation. They gathered evidence at the scene and took statements from those involved, as well as those who witnessed the accident. They have asked that anyone who might have information regarding this collision call them at 909-620-2048. Officers had to request tow trucks to come to the scene and remove the damaged vehicles from the intersection. Crews worked as quickly as they could to remove the debris from the roadway, as well.

Update: One victim passed away at the hospital the week of July 15. Family members have identified her as 57-year-old Carol Fuentes. A driver of a Ford Expedition fled the scene, and police are still searching for them.
