Moccasin, CA (May 10, 2024) A late morning drive on State Route 120 in Moccasin ended in a head-on collision for three motorists. The traumatic accident took place just before 11:30 on Thursday, May 9th near Moccosin Creed D Road. One person sustained serious injuries in the accident and was airlifted to a local hospital, according to reports.
It was just before 11:30 a.m. in the town of Moccosin, as vehicles drove along State Route 120. Without warning, a gray Subaru, a white Toyota Tundra pickup and a Kenworth semi-truck all collided on the highway. Initial reports indicated that two of the vehicles collided head-on before crashing into a third vehicle on State Route 120. The three vehicles blocked the roadway and debris was thrown all over the scene.
Paramedics arrived and found one person who had been seriously injured in the collision. Instead of using an ambulance, they requested a medical helicopter to the scene. The victim was quickly airlifted to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. It is unknown, at this time, if anyone else was injured in this collision in Moccasin.
Officers began investigating the scene in an attempt to discover what actually led up to this accident. They are also determined to find out who was at fault in this Moccosin accident. Police officers called for tow trucks because at least two of the vehicles had sustained major damage and had to be hauled from the scene. Pieces of debris were picked up from the roadway and the smaller pieces swept until the highway was clear and traffic resumed.
