Hesperia, CA (June 9, 2024) A collision involving three vehicles occurred in Hesperia on Saturday, May 31st. The collision left one person with serious injuries, officers said. The accident occurred at the intersection of Arrowhead Lake Road and Ranchero Road, just minutes before 7:00 p.m.
A woman was driving a red Jeep east on Arrowhead Lake Road when a black pickup truck pulled out in front of her. The woman in the Jeep had no time to react and the two vehicles collided, hitting a silver Toyota SUV in the process. The vehicles blocked the roadway and debris was thrown in every direction, reports indicated.
The Hesperia Police Department and the San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the three vehicles in the middle of the intersection. The pickup truck had sustained major damage in the accident and firefighters discovered the driver trapped in the wreckage. They used specialized tools to free the driver and called for a medical helicopter to come to the scene and take the patient to a trauma center that wasn’t in the area. They also requested an ambulance to come to the scene to take at least one other person to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers gathered evidence and are determined to understand why the pickup pulled out in front of the Jeep. A tow truck was called to remove the pickup truck from the scene and workers swept the debris and glass from the intersection so motorists could resume on the roadway.
