Canoga Park, Los Angeles, CA (January 31, 2024) The Canoga Park neighborhood is in shock this morning, following a high-speed hit-and-run collision that left 26-year-old Alejandro Lopez Munoz dead. The fatal accident happened right at 1:00 a.m. in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles.
Witnesses at the scene told police officers that two cars were speeding down the road when one of the cars cut off the other, causing the driver, who was identified as Munos, to lose control. The car crashed into another car before slamming into a pole at a high speed near Vanowen Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Witnesses said that the other vehicle involved didn’t even slow down. They continued speeding down the street until they were out of sight. The vehicle was described as a black Mercedes Benz.
Police officers arrived at the scene to find a Toyota Camry that was completely smashed and destroyed. Alejandro Lopez Munoz was trapped inside the vehicle. Paramedics rushed to try and free the trapped driver, but sadly, Munoz couldn’t be freed in time. He was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
