High-Speed Chase Ends In Crash In LA, Two Seriously Injured

One killed, one seriously injured and one arrested in a Las Vegas Street race.

Los Angeles, CA (June 18, 2024) South Los Angeles was shocked as news spread through the community of a three-vehicle collision caused by a stolen car pursuit. Two teenage girls stole a vehicle and led officers on a high speed chase that ended in a collision. The accident took place on Obama Boulevard at the intersection of La Brea Avenue right around 6:15 p.m., according to reports. The collision left two innocent people injured.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department received news that a white Kia had been stolen by two juvenile females. Shortly after receiving this information, officers located the stolen vehicle on Obama Boulevard. They attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the teenage driver refused to stop. The juvenile led officers on a high-speed chase through the streets of south Los Angeles. They sped down Obama Boulevard and, as the Kia entered the intersection at La Brea Avenue, it collided with a BMW and a white Chevy U-Haul pickup truck.

All three vehicles sustained major damage in the accident and debris and glass were thrown all over the intersection, according to reports. The airbags in all three vehicles had deployed as a result of the collision, as well. Officers reported that the drivers side of the BMW was smashed in with both driver’s side windows blown out following the accident.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the three damaged vehicles in the middle of the intersection. Officers began directing traffic away from the scene as paramedics hurried to give medical aid to those who had been injured. They found the driver of the U-Haul pickup and the driver of the BMW both injured. Paramedics placed both victims in ambulances and transported them to a local hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

Sgt. Ahlemeir with the Los Angeles Police Department reported that both juvenile females were arrested at the scene, following the collision. The two teenagers face several charges, according to reports.
