Ponoma, CA (August 23, 2023) A high-speed chase on Tuesday ended with the suspect crashing into a sheriff’s inmate bus.
Police tried to pull over a silver convertible on Tuesday afternoon. Instead of stopping, the driver led police officers on a high-speed chase on the 605 Freeway in the Santa Fe Springs area. Officers said the driver then sped onto the 10 Freeway, driving east at over 120 mph.

The convertible eventually crashed into a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department inmate bus in Ponoma. No inmates were on the bus and the driver of the bus wasn’t injured. The convertible ended up on its side, wedged between the inmate bus and the center divider.
The driver jumped out of the car and tried to flee on foot, but he was captured almost immediately and arrested.
