A 65-year-old homeless man was critically injured, on Sunday, when he was runover and dragged by a vehicle in the Hillcrest of San Diego.

Authorities say the accident took place at 11:38 a.m. in the west side alley of 3800 Park Blvd. The driver of the vehicle, a 48-year-old man, had turned into the alley off of University Avenue in Hillcrest. Meanwhile, the victim was sleeping on a mattress in the narrow alleyway. The car struck the man, and dragged him almost 30 feet before stopping.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was quickly transported to the hospital with severe burns and a broken leg, among other injuries.
