Glendale, CA (August 28, 2024) At least one person sustained injuries in a chain reaction crash on the 5 Freeway in Glendale on Tuesday morning, August 27th, 2024. Officers reported that as many as 10 vehicles, including a semi-truck, were involved.

Traffic flowed along the Interstate 5 Freeway in Glendale on Tuesday morning, August 27th, just as it did every morning. Suddenly, and for reasons that remain a mystery, a major chain reaction collision occurred in the southbound lanes. Reports indicated that all of the southbound lanes ended up blocked by one of the ten vehicles or by all the debris that was tossed over the roadway.

First responders arrived at the scene and found the ten damaged cars. The scene was messy and chaotic and they hurried to find anyone who needed medical attention. Reports indicated that at least one person sustained injuries in the collision. However, it is still unknown if they were treated at the scene or taken to a local hospital.

The southbound lanes of the freeway were closed for hours as officers investigated the scene and crews worked to clean up the huge mess that had been left behind. Tow trucks were seen hauling damaged vehicles away and crews worked hard to remove all of the debris that was scattered in all directions.
