Ukiah, CA (July 30, 2024) A multi-vehicle, head-on collision occurred in Ukiah on Monday afternoon, July 29th. The collision left an unknown number of people with injuries and caused major traffic delays. It all happened on US Highway 101 near the Jaxon Keys Winery & Distillery, in Mendocino County, officers reported.
Shortly after 3:00 p.m. in Ukiah, vehicles traveled along Highway 101 with no worries. Suddenly, a black Ford SUV, a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a blue Subaru Forester collided. The collision sent glass and debris all over the roadway and the damaged vehicles blocked both sides of the highway, officers reported. The aftermath of the collision caused traffic to stop in both directions, according to reports.

Paramedics found those with injuries and began evaluating and treating them at the scene. At least one person was taken to a local hospital with injuries, but their current condition is unknown. Officers requested tow trucks to come and remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway following the investigation at the scene. Crews worked diligently to clean up the debris and glass that littered the roadway in every direction. Unfortunately for motorists, the highway was at a standstill for hours. Officers continue to investigate in an attempt to understand what exactly happened on Highway 101 in Ukiah and who was responsible.
