Lancaster Crash On Avenue K and 17th Street East Claimed Man’s Life

Injuries reported in South Sacramento collision.

Lancaster, CA (March 10, 2024) An accident sadly claimed a man’s Life on Saturday, March 9th, in Lancaster. The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Avenue K and 17th Street East right at 2:45 p.m., Detective Jorge Diaz stated.

Initial reports indicated that a Kia Forte was turning south from Avenue K onto 17th Street East. At the same time, a Subaru WRX was traveling east on Avenue K when the two cars collided. The Subaru slammed into the Kia as it turned, officers said.

Paramedics and police officers arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles with serious damage. The driver of the Kia was seriously injured and paramedics rushed him to Antelope Valley Medical Center to receive treatment. The medical staff did everything they could, but, unfortunately, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the Subaru remained at the scene and cooperated with police officers during their investigation. Detective Diaz reported that this accident remains under investigation as they determine what exactly happened at this Lancaster intersection.
