Las Vegas, NV (September 5, 2024) On September 2 at approximately 1:04 a.m, a collision occurred between a pickup truck and an SUV at the intersection of N. Eastern Avenue at Searles Avenue.
LVMPD reported that a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on Searles Avenue through the intersection with N. Eastern. Meanwhile, a RAM 2500 and GMC Sierra were traveling southbound and approaching Searles at a rate of “at least 90 miles per hour,” according to Fox 5 Vegas.
The crash occurred when the Chevrolet driver ran a red light. The speeding RAM struck the Chevrolet on the passenger side, causing the RAM to roll over and strike a power utility pole. The GMC, which was speeding side-by-side with the RAM, then struck the rear of the Chevrolet in the midst of the collision.
Paramedics rushed the RAM and Chevrolet drivers to UMC Trauma. Sadly, the Chevrolet driver, a 33-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the RAM is still in the ICU at the hospital as of the latest reports. Both he and the driver of the GMC are being charged with reckless driving resulting in Death/SBH.
Update (9/12): The victim has been identified as Fabian Rene Villa.
